Master and served on the USCF Policy Board (1979-1982). He edited and produced
the New York State Chess Federation's magazine and won chess journalism awards
for a number of articles about different kinds on chess. His titles include
Rochester (NY) Chess Club Champion, Rochester (NY) City Chess Champion, and
Rochester (NY) Absolute Chess Champion. He once tied for 1/2/3 at the U.S.
