The North/Central Texas Grades Championship in Houston hosted 340 players on November 3-5, and the South Texas Grades Championship in Corpus Christi hosted 130 on November 11-12, 2018. Several players achieved perfect scores. Tom Su (K-1-2), Joaquin Aiden Gray Loftin (6), William Howard McNutt (7), and Siddhant Patil (9) achieved perfect scores in the South while Zachary Ethan Liaw (K), Sri Yashvi Raghuraja (1), Shelev Oberoi (6), and Adarsh Hullahalli (11-12) achieved perfect scores in the North/Central.
The South Grades Championships were organized by the Optimist Coastal Bend Chess Federation, and the North/Central Grades Championships were organized by the Dallas Chess Club.
