2025 Texas Junior Invitational

Dear Players and Parents,

This is a quick reminder that the 2025 Texas Junior Invitational will take place this weekend. Please make sure you are fully prepared. Below are some important notes and expectations.

General Guidelines

Take your time during the games. This is a prestigious event that brings together some of the strongest young players in Texas. Every move matters. Use your clock wisely, stay sharp, and play with confidence. You were chosen for a reason, and now is your chance to prove why you belong among the best.

Camera Setup Requirements

All players must have at least one camera showing both their face and screen.

Two cameras are strongly recommended (side or overhead view).

Test your setup in advance. Contact us if you need help.

Device Recommendations

Use a desktop or laptop whenever possible for better stability.

iPads or tablets should only be used as a last resort and must remain stationary.

Pairings and Tournament Platform

Pairings, standings, and games will all be available here:https://events.texaschess.org/invitational/

This is the central platform for the tournament. Make sure you are familiar with it before the event begins.

Fair Play Policy

Cheating includes any action that provides an unfair advantage. This includes but is not limited to:

Using engines like Stockfish or Chess.com analysis

Getting outside help (in person or online)

Using notes, books, or chess-related tabs

Using a second device for research or communication

Leaving the camera view without notice

Letting someone else play for you

Even one move assisted by external help is considered cheating. Games will be reviewed closely, and any violations will result in:

Immediate disqualification

Ban from future TCA events

Report to US Chess

Notification to your school or sponsor

All players must complete the Fair Play Acknowledgment Form:Complete the Fair Play Form

Additional Expectations

Notify the TD if you need to leave for medication or bathroom before the round starts or via Zoom chat.

Play in a quiet, private space. Do not speak to anyone during games.

Use a stable internet connection. Reconnect quickly if disconnected.

This is an invitation-only event, and you earned your place. Let’s keep it professional, fair, and focused.
