Howdy TCA Members,
The 2022 TCA elections will be conducted August 1-21, 2022. Our goal is to ensure every eligible voter has that opportunity.
FIRST THINGS FIRST.
All candidates must have current TCA membership up through September 30, 2022. If elected, it is assumed they will keep their memberships current throughout their two-year term.
DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS is Friday, July 22, 2022, NLT 11:59 PM (CST). Email all nominations to the Texas Knights Editor (txknightsed@gmail.com).
ATTENTION ALL CANDIDATES: Send your campaign statement to the Texas Knights Editor NLT Friday, July 29, 2022, NLT 11:59 PM (CST). INCLUDE YOUR PHOTO (head and shoulders view recommended). Reference: Bylaws of the Texas Chess Association, Inc. (Updated March 10, 2021). Article V: OFFICERS. Section 2. Nominations.
ELECTION SPECIFICS:
To be eligible to vote you must be a TCA member as of July 31, 2022, 16 years of age, and a resident of Texas.
Candidate information will be in the ballot you receive and in Texas Knights on the TCA website.
Electronic ballots will be distributed to the email address you supplied when you purchased your TCA membership. This will be around August 7, 2022. The online election via electronic ballot will close on August 21, 2022, at 11:59 PM (CST).
If you have a family membership, you will receive multiple ballots to the same email. Children under 16 on the family membership are not eligible to vote.
If you do not receive a ballot in your email, please check your other folders such as spam, junk, or promotions. If you don’t find it in any of those places, please contact the TCA Treasurer (barbrounds@gmail.com) and CC the TCA VP (txchessfacebook@gmail.com). You will be sent a paper ballot. You must return the paper ballot postmarked no later than August 20, 2022.
The results of the election will be announced September 4, 2022, at the SW Open TCA Business Meeting. Details about how to attend this will be posted on the TCA website.
