The Texas Chess Association is pleased to announce its annual awards program to recognize deserving chess players, volunteers and other community members.
The Recognitions Committee is seeking nominations from TCA members for this year’s awards. The committee will report recommendations to the Board of Directors who will make the final decision. Awards will be announced at the annual membership meeting.
If you would like to nominate multiple people, you will need to fill out one form for each nominee. Self-nominations are not allowed. Nominees must be TCA members or, if deceased, were members at the time of passing. Only activities in the award year ending on May 30 are considered for of the year awards.

- 1935 Award (highest level of volunteer service to Texas chess)
- Exemplary Services (significant volunteer service to TCA governance)
- Meritorious Services (volunteer service at state, regional or local level)
- Outstanding New Volunteer
- Outstanding Organizer
- Outstanding Tournament Director
- Outstanding Chess Coach
- Special Services (volunteer service in a specific project or area)
- College of the Year
- Region of the Year
- Player of the Year
- Woman Player of the Year
- Young Player of the Year (under 16 as of May 30)
