US Chess has announced the list of players who are officially invited to participate in the 2023 World Youth and 2023 World Cadet Chess Championships. To earn this honor the player must meet the Peak Post-Tournament rating and Activity Criteria in their categories according to the Scholastic National Invitational Event and Award Requirements. Qualification is also based on a player’s age as of Jan. 1, 2023.
The following Texas players have been invited to 2023 World Youth Championships:
Under 18: GIRLS Anh Nguyen; Under 16: OPEN Aryan Gutla, GIRLS Kalia Wang; UNDER 14: OPEN Andy Woodward, Ryo Chen, Harshid Kunka and Eric Liu, GIRLS Sunny Zhang
No invites were extended for the Under 18: OPEN section.
The following Texas players have been invited to 2023 World Cadet Championships:
Under 12: OPEN Daniel Yang; Under 10: GIRLS Chloe Liu; Under 8: OPEN Annie Yao, GIRLS Annie Yao
No invites were extended for the Under 12: GIRLS and/or the Under 10: OPEN sections.
