The Texas Chess Association is seeking applications for the Editor of Texas Knights. We welcome you to apply for this unique opportunity to serve the Texas chess community. You can submit your application here.

The Editor of Texas Knights is responsible for editing and publishing at least four issues of Texas Knights each year. This includes seeking content from contributors, proofreading articles, compiling articles into a complete issue, overseeing distribution (both paper and electronic) and maintaining relations with advertisers (if any). The Editor may appoint volunteer assistants to support these functions.

The publication has unfortunately been out of print since August 2024, but the Board is eagerly seeking to restart this vital service for our members. As the new Editor, you would have significant flexibility to be creative and imagine the future of Texas Knights. You can find old issues of Texas Knights here.

The Editor receives $400 per issue as compensation. The Editor is an independent contractor. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented visionaries who demonstrate professionalism and an ability to consistently produce issues on schedule. Technical abilities (such as editing, formatting and design skills) are also appreciated. Chess experience is a plus but not required.

The Board of Directors will make the final decision on the appointment of the Editor. Select candidates may be interviewed at the board meeting on June 28 (time TBD; after 6:00pm).

The application deadline is 11:59pm on June 26.
