Cole Blakeman’s name comes up again and again for sweeping tournaments. In November he won the 23-player 11th Grade Section of the 22nd Annual North/Central Texas Grades Championship. In January he won the Region 3 High School Championship with a 4.5/5.0 score. He made Expert in April and won his Red River Shoot Out match against one of the toughest players in Oklahoma. A couple of weeks later he tied for 4th Place in the 3rd Annual Frank Kim Berry Memorial in Tulsa.

Most recently he tied for First with a 4.5/5.0 score in the 39-player K-12 Section of the Texas State and Amateur Championship. The very next day he jumped into middle of the Championship Section of the Texas State Championship and scored 2.0/6.0 against six very strong Experts.

Young Mr. Coleman is more than a chess player. He is a Club Tournament Director and an outstanding chess ambassador. He has the knack for making all who meet him feel right at ease.

Mr. Coleman is a member of the Alliance Chess Club, Arlington Chess Club, and the Tarrant County Chess Club.

For all the above reasons and more, Cole Blakeman is our choice for TCA Player of the Month.
